Crescendo
came about to draw together the talents of a group of creative women.
Collectively, it showcases women who are gifted in a diverse range
of Arts.
In making our selection, we chose works representing traditional
techniques and sophisticated digital manipulation, writing and reflection,
fun and provocation, empathy and enjoyment.
Each woman has contributed her pieces to stimulate and engage our
visitors. In return, she hopes that you will understand a little
more about the perplexing, enigmatic condition which is called endometriosis.

Creativity...
Hilary Mantel has contributed the following
reflection:
Why do we write, or draw, or
make a garden, or knit a person-shape out of a ball of wool? It
is because we want to join up the world, be a visible part of it,
show ourselves for who we really are. Life injures all of us, but
there's an impulse to be whole, whatever damage has been done. This
impulse is creativity. It originates in the deepest part of our
psychic, and springs from inner darkness and chaos towards light
and air and a sense of connection with our fellow-beings and the
natural world. It makes something out of a few little nothings,
it kindles a spark from ashes, it ties up the broken threads. All
true art is healing art.
