I miss you deeply, now we are apart.
I miss the way you lit me up inside,
I miss the voice you used to break my heart,
I miss the way you held me when I cried.
Not just the actual presence of you here -
although your absence wounds me like a knife -
I miss the simple thought that you are near,
That still you play a part within my life.
I miss the sight of you; you are like bread
To starving souls. I could for hours look
Upon the perfect beauty of your face.
Now all I have are pictures in my head,
And memories enough to fill a book,
And next to me, through days and nights, a space.
